Hawaii Please email Donna at meridianwoman©rael.org for information on upcoming events. Sunday, August 23 in Little Beach, Maui Join Us for 'Island-Style, Before the Missionaries' on August 23, Kahena Park, Little Beach, Maui' from noon to 3 PM. In the tropics, people didn't wear clothes until the missionaries' colonies moved in and made rules for everyone to 'cover up or else.' Soon after, other freedoms were taken away: the right to hula dance and the right to speak Hawaiian in schools. Thankfully, those oppressive rules have been thrown out...except for the puritian rule about 'covering up.'...Yeo, that rule is still unchallenged, at least for women. Men can go topless, but not women. Today, the big question is: are women's breasts actually family friendly? Are women likely to psychologically traumatize children if they are to show their breasts in public? In the past, there was no trauma and no indecency about bare breasts. Only the missionaries had that in their minds. Today, the debate is over breast feeding in public, and women across the USA feel they are winning a big battle because they are winning the right to breast feed in public. Let us think bigger than that! Let's think constitutional rights! Breasts are decent whether you are nursing or not! In Europe, this is not an issue. But is is in the USA. Why? Gotopless.org wants to offer you a little feeling of the freedom of island-style, before the missionaries. On August 23rd, come and join our parade of freedom on the beach where women can enjoy their body in a natural state of a mind as the Raelian Philosphy, sponsoring this event, invites people to do. Artist will be making sculptures in the sand, with messages about GoTopless Day. Saturday 11 August 2007 - 13:57:16 | National Websites Available Now
